Mission Statement

OUR MISSION AND AIMS

To work with teachers, children, authors, illustrators and fellow researchers in the field to develop inclusive materials, which provide access to the curriculum in a highly creative, interactive, multimedia, multi-sensory environment in which the core aims are: -

• To recognise and celebrate the importance of the different literacies, including digital literacy, required of the ‘millennium child’
• To place teaching and learning at the heart of developing educational technology
• To develop the potential of talking book materials for developing higher order reading skills
• To foster creative involvement with writing, illustration, design and production of talking books
• To encourage children’s interaction with, and response to, a range of talking book texts
• Animating book culture through multi-media to provide ‘three-dimensional’, multi sensory experiences at the interface of technology and pedagogy

Support the accreditation of teachers' expertise through continuing professional development especially in disseminating the methodologies dimension so that the work can be widely applicable.
