Anthony Browne Anthony Browne
Anthony Browne is a celebrated author and illustrator of children’s picture books. He has published widely, both nationally and internationally. After leaving Leeds College of Art, he began his career as a medical illustrator and later his work was used for cards and posters. His first picture book was published in 1975. Since then, his work has attracted many awards including The Kurt Maschler Award three times, the Kate Greenaway Medal twice and, most recently, he was the first British children’s illustrator to win the prestigious Hans Christian Anderson Medal since 1956. From June 2001 to March 2002, Anthony worked as the writer and illustrator in residence at the Tate Britain.
